I'm just curious as to whether anyone else knows anyone like this. I have a mate who is able to play pretty much any game but put an FPS on and he can't handle turning and moving at the same time, he ends up swinging his head around which I do laugh at. Its even worse if an enemy starts shooting at him and the panic sets in.

Surely he can't be the only one? :D

Some people find it really jarring and some people even get motion sickness. My wife can't watch me play games for more than about half an hour before her head starts swimming.

I find the PS3 pad to be pretty poor for FPS games. The dead zone on the thumb sticks drives me nuts some time. Its ok once you get used to it but it takes a while.

Been plaing FPS games with mouse/keyboard since the late nineties.
Last few years has been a steep learning curve trying to get used to a gamepad.

I'm at last feeling half comfortable with it now.
I'm still a bit rubbish though.

I've just had a mate round who has been playing console FPS for years, while I've only made the switch in the past couple of months. His aiming control with the analogue stick is incredible compared to mine.

I guess I'll get it with practice.

I do ok with a controller for FPS games, but certainly not as good as with a kb/mouse. A friend of mine with a PS3 downright refuses to play FPS games on a console as he just can't get to grips with it at all.

I don't mind using a controller these days (not much choice really if it's a 360 or PS3 shooter) but there's one FPS there really gets on my...nerves. Killzone 2 - worst implementation of FPS/joypad handling ever. I think it must be to do with the way they have your character move, but for me, it's just dire. The only game I've abandoned on console due to the feel of the control system.

I refuse to play fps on my consoles it feels so unnatural, give me them on a pc and there second nature to me, some people fit the joypad rite off for that kind of game and some people never will, personally without sounding inflammatory i think fps have no place on a joy pad but millions disagree, now fifa.... fifa i just cant get unless the machines native control is a pad.

I only use a PS3 controller if I really have to (killzone 2) Otherwise I just use my blu-ray remote for my PS3,

The ironic thing is that Killzone 2 was pretty poor

The 360 controller is very good for football and driving games and works pretty well for FPS games,

For FPS it has to be keyboard and mouse, it can't be beaten
