Hey guys,

Some of you may know im in the middles or rebuilding a 2001 YZ125 that I bought as a bit of a wreck.

Now everything has gone fine in the strip down except the linkage arm, the bolt that holds it to the bottom of them frame is seized inside, i have the nut of the side and it rotates, but i cant for the life of me get it out.

I have tried a brass punch with a heavy mallet, WD-40 on both ends and leaving it over night, heating it up, but it still won't budge.

Anyone have and ideas? This bolt is stopping any more progress from happening.

Thanks

Plus gas, time and more heat.

Got any pictures to help... I'm thinking maybe the two have seized together on the inside with the strength of welding. Are drilling or angle grinding are out of the question i guess as you are talking about the frame?

It's a solid bit of ally that has a bearing either side and has a bushing in the middle, then that bolts into the middle of the frame under the swinging arm

Sounds like the bushing/sleeve inside could be the offending item, if that is seized to the bolt inside the arm...eeurgh. That would explain why it's being such a **** to remove.

ive never posted a pic on here before, im going to work tomoz to do some more work on it (need to clean the swinging arm and linkage out and the wheels)

you can turn the bolt easily with your hand, but the bolt wont come out, also, as the linkage arm has a crack on it, i have ordered a new one off ebay, so i have hit the crack with a hammer and chisel to open it up but still no joy, so im going to sharpen a smaller chisel and try extend the crack to the other side and hopefully open it enough to either break it off or to let the bolt out.

the bush is also free and the bolt spins without the bush so im assuming the bolt has grooved itself in there, if thats the case, the grinder is coming, mwahahaha :D
