Not far off really on the fritz, I got about 9100. Anihilated on SuperPi though, 17.3secs was my fastest, that was at 4ghz.
I was wondering how much the difference would be, I've heard loads of people say that for gaming, everyday desktop use etc the 965BE is equal to an i7 920, but is nothing like as good for rendering.
Ah well, 9100 isn't too bad! I was hoping to get it over 10k as no-one in this thread has managed it yet, but I can't get it stable enough at 4ghz for a run. It would be quite an achievement for a C2 though...
Haha, it's on now! C2 Vs C3, which will prevail...Heads up Muel, its your turn to beat him! Get the thing outside its cold out
Yeah, it's not a massive way off, it's just the business of getting the right price/performance and features with the choice between AMD and i5 My proposed AMD setup would have cost me only a pound less than the i5 setup, and all I was losing out on was proper Crossfire support.
Also, SuperPi is more Intel orientated so Intel chips will always destroy AMD on that. It's only really any good for comparing Intel chips with other Intel chips.
lol you cant base a sole purchase on super pi though
I don't mind not having crossfire, I'm a fan of single cards really anyway, and the thing that really swung it for me was I just fancied an AMD, never had one before so thought I'd go for it!
Sorry for the lack of table updating, I'll do one tonight when I get back from work.
I'm also going to see how high I can get up the Phenom II table

If it wasn't for HT my q9650 would be top of the tree but having 8 threads vs 4 threads in the chess I have no chance.
i7 920 D0 @ 4.6
P6T deluxe v2 (cross flashed to v1 bios)
No I think this would be faster with HT off
Really? Post a result with your 920 at 4.6 and HT off then and show me you get a higher score in Fritz chess. If people get higher scores with HT off then why do they run the benchmark with it on?
I'm intrigued as I always thought that was why i7's scored higher than my q9650 as in superpi I can almost match an i7 (with my higher overclock) but my chess score is always way down.
So you are saying a Q9650 @ 4.6ghz is faster than an i7 920@ 4.6ghz HT off in chess?
Thats I would like to see.
If it wasn't for HT my q9650 would be top of the tree but having 8 threads vs 4 threads in the chess I have no chance.
No. I'm saying my 4.9ghz q9650 might be faster with 4 cores only
So would you like to do a non HT run?
I;m more interested to see at the same clocks though, how much of a difference there is between the q9650, i7 and amd 4 core processors.
The i7's with HT on will always outperform the other two.
I am pretty sure at the same clock, the i7 will still win with 4 cores but would love to see the difference.
Tried my i7 at 4ghz with HT disabled. 4.6ghz is a no go on my basic air cooling.Would be a good comparison although it would probably have to be done at 4ghz if you want the amd chips to play, not seen any extreme cooled amd's on ocuk.
