Hey all.
I have Dell UltraSharp 32 UP3216Q Professional IPS 4K UHD Monitor, and had it since 2016 or so, so for a while...
It's an old construction, so bezels are chunky etc...

Am in the process of changing my desk and new one is not as deep as the current one.
As 32 might be too big now, am tempted to change to a new panel - 4k but 27"...

Am I crazy doing that ??? maybe crazy swapping desk to not as deep...

Could you pleas ehelp picking a new 27" 4k panel please ?
I game a little bit, so faster reponse time then current dell would be useful, but not a must have.

Thanks all.

You will have a better pixel density going from 4K 32 to 27. Not massive but it was noticable for me when I did it previously. (I'm on 57 now)

Personally, I couldn't go back down a size, the pixel density wouldn't make it worth it for me - it doesn't bother me looking at 4K on a TV, so I doubt it would on a monitor up close, as I've used my 1440P 31.5" in 1080P before.

I went from 23.5-26.5-31.5, 1080-1080-1440P.

Maybe consider wall mounting it if you have the option? I've just done this, and could never go back to having it on my desk pointlessly taking up space, plus I gained a better height :)

I think 31.5" is the sweet spot for 1440P/4K.
Each to their own and YMMV ofcourse :)

If you're genuinely happy with switching to 27" then I'd go 1440p. Your GPU will thank you.
4K at 27" looks crispy AF but you won't see the difdference in gaming and you'll find yourself running 150% scaling in Windows.

Have you considered an ultrawide?

before that 32 i had 34 curved but back bleed was so bad, Dell offered me upgrade to current screen.

i'm running old Vega and shes doing still okay in 4k ..for my needs...
with my poor eyes , my desktop is in 150% scale now anyway...
maybe i dont need 4k ...

wall mount doesnt sound bad...or an arm that will bring screen closer to wall...
hmmm

If you're happy with an OLED got AOC/MSI/ASUS 4K 240hz displays

if you're happy sticking with non oled I've seen a few 4K 160hz ips displays on auction sites Manufacturer refurbished item in fully working condition, in an opened/ potentially damaged box for less than £200 with 1 year warranty.
