Greetings everyone, I've had my GTX 780 for a while now and i think it'll be time for a upgrade later this year near September.

Question is what do i upgrade to?

The upgrade will be going under water just like my current GTX 780.

I'm playing at 2560x1440 on my Asus RoG swift. 3GB of Vram isn't cutting it any more with details being pushed.

I play on a lot of AAA games that are quite demanding and I'd like to get full use out for the 144hz.

Now i'm not saying on every game i must hit the 100+ FPS mark because that isn't going to happen unless i SLI Titan X or something.

I'll have around £800 by late September so i was wondering what would be the best option.

I'm given to understand the new 3XX series of AMD cards are around the corner.

Will Nvidia respond? Or is it pretty much confirmed that the new Nvidia series of cards won't be out till Q1/Q2 2016?

Would highly appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Jamie

Yep, as above if you want to stick with NV due to Gsync you only have one option right now in the TX, or wait a bit for the 980Ti.

I'm running a pair of 780Tis in SLI on a Rog swift. I'm doing a new gaming build in a few months as I need 2 systems now (one dedicated for work) and I was all set on getting a TX or 980Ti for my new game build.

But, this was before I got GTA5 recently, which runs amazingly on my system as is, and the recent news about the Witcher 3. I know it's all a bit sketchy, but it's looking like the graphics have been stripped back on that now for console parity, which is a crying shame.

I kind of feel now, like it's still not worth me upgrading my GPU's now/ yet. What games are there coming out now, that need better than 780Ti SLI? I don't have a single current game that has problems with the 780Ti's 3GB Vram gaming at 1440p on the Swift. Some games are pushing close I admit, but close is ok for now, and works.

And I don't count Shadows of Mordor even though I've got that. One (over rated) game, that has one graphics option, that needs more Vram. It doesn't even look any better on ultra textures particularly. The difference is extremely minimal for the outlandish Vram increase. Certainly not enough to worry about.

Just thinking out loud :-)

A 6GB 980Ti should be the perfect upgrade and is likely come in late June or July at the latest to counter AMDs high end effort.

Agree with the above, the 980Ti should be available by then.
The Titan X is great for the present but I think it'll run out of processing power before memory at 1440p so ideally would need two or even more of them longer term as an optimal setup
