Morning all,

Thought I would create a thread showing my move from my prodigy to the 250D, with the hope it helping anyone out there considering the case. I was in two minds as to whether the thread belonged in the project section, but didn't feel it worthy, so apologies mods if I have got it wrong!

Anyway back on track.... no change of components listed in my sig and was a straight swap, though I did add the following lights to make it look all pretty inside http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-045-LP&groupid=701&catid=1428&subcat=1430

Here is a couple of pics comparing the size of the 2 cases.

In the end I had to remove the optical drive bay to make way for the H60 cooler as i found this to be the best position for minimal cables blocking the view inside of the case from the windowed top. Also I was originally worried whether the HIS IceQ 7950 would fit in this case and whilst it was a struggle I got there in the end.

And finally, a couple of images showing the completed build with light fitted :)

Hope you all enjoyed the thread - any questions I will do my best to answer

Looks very nice.
I'm very much debating whether or not to change my build to SFF using a 250D and re-suing some of the spec in my sig.

I keep asking everyone I've seen so far with a 250D the same question: Cable management! I'm led to believe there isn't much in the form of it? However yours looks very tidy so well done!

Cable management is somewhat limited, but its amazing what you can do with a few cable ties; with the majority of it hidden away under the optical bay drive.

I also think the case was designed with in mind of a certain few mobo's; usually the ones with the main ATX 24pin supply point located to the rear of the board for eg http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-041-EA&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2071

This thread inspired me to go with a 250d instead of the Silverstone Raven. Did you change the fans in your case / rad? It's really quite already but I'd like to shave a few DB off where I can.

I've kept the 140mm in the front but have been able to connect it to the mobo header and control it via the bios.

I replaced the 120mm with a black apache fan and also have one fitted to the h60 radiator. Pretty quiet and well pleased with it.

Glad the thread inspired your choice :D

I'm about to embark on a 250D build too.
I've heard from Mrs OracIe that all the bits have arrived and I have tomorrow booked off annual leave...!

How did it go? I've just ordered some Noctuas for mine, and a nice strip of white LEDs for the inside :)

Any benefits moving to the 250d from the prodigy? Looking to do a mini itx build and was looking at one of these 2 cases?

Nice, got any pics?

Mines still a work in progress, I've been busy at work.

Check out my project thread here (clicky)

Got to fit my new H100i, I've also requested some bespoke shortened braided cables from shakmods as I'm not happy with my cabling due to the default cable lengths.

I'm also looking at getting one of those newly released Plextor M.2 drives, removing it from the PCI-e PCB and plugging it directly into my mobo.

Don't get me started on which GFX to put in it!!

The overall build quality/finish seems much better in the corsair IMO. Though you can't knock the prodigy and just comes down to personal taste. Main reason for moving away from the prodigy was colour scheme, though I do think the 250d is damn sexy :D

I'll get some pictures over the weekend. My fans have just arrived so I'll get those fitted first and grab some pics. :)

I need to do some more cable tidying as well. The mobo I have only has two fan connectors on it, so I've had to use those awful multicoloured extenders. Tempted by a VI Impact to solve that little problem. :D

Thanks. The Corsair 250d has just moved up to top spot on my wanted list.
