Is this an ok spec? cause im not familiar with all this new ram speeds on DDR2 alongside FSb and core duo chips!

I WILL be overclocking!

Dont need Hdd, just the other guts

GPU is temporary untill i see the pricing on the 8800GTs and if that affects the price of other cards?

Might want to go for a 600W PSU, something like Enermax or Seasonic.

I would think that 7900GTO would do you fine for a few months - then take a look at how the G80 / revised model pricing is.

good point! however, I cant justify paying £80+ on PSU unless its totally necessary... Do i REALLY need to get a 600W? or is it best to get one and be done with it so its ready for the direct 10 cards power consumption.

The new 8800GTX's pull over 300watts under load. Might want to go for the 600 ;D

If your getting a GTO then you can pass the 8800's by, and the R600 for that matter, that card will see you well into next year, then you can pick up one of the new cards out around that time.

thats the decision i need to make as i dont *think* i can SLI on that board? or even crossfire?

The new NForce motherboards are also out on the 8th so you could wait a couple of days if SLi is your thing.
