From ATi to Nvidia. Driver Query

its been a few years since I was last with Nvidia, as have been with Ati ever since I brought an 9700Pro.

I will be installing my new 8800GT tomorrow and will need to get rid of all the Ati software, I hear that just removing them from the control panel isn't that simple.

What else should I have to do, or is there a bit of software that will clean my system of ATi?

Yep uninstall all ati software -> boot to safe mode -> use driver cleaner pro -> shut down, install new card and boot.

i just removed all the ati stuff from Programs & Features, shutdown, changed cards over, installed nvidia drivers. And it's all been fine

169.02 is still the official WHQL driver for 8800GT, although people have been using the 169.04/09 as well.

Sorry to hijack mate, but would you still need to use drivercleaner pro even if its nvidia to nvidia? Gonna be installing my 8800gt too, got a 7800 gtx atm.

I use it everytime I reinstall graphics driver even when with the same card just to be sure.
