Hi. After trying for a bit the Dragon Age 2 Demo,i decided to give Origins another go. I only played halfway as a rogue,so i now started another adventure as a mage. Anyone else on the same boat, that is having been motivated to retry Origins after Demo?

Recently replayed through all of origins, awakenings and the two dlc's that can be transferred into DA 2 with a mage. Got a save to transfer into DA 2, what effect decisions from origins and the rest will have on DA 2 remain to be seen.

I enjoyed the DA 2 demo and am awaiting March 11th.

I enjoyed playing the DA2 demo as a mage, it is very different from DA:O so will take some getting used to tho

I found myself buying the awakening addon pack and playing it, really enjoyed it too :) I'm looking forward to DA2 now too, although not sure what class to go for - not that the choice is huge.

DA:O is a good game, but parts of it i question Bioware's commitment and quality control when developing the game, but my overall experience so far of DA:O is good and i still have yet to complete it, just need to find the time with being back at work again.

I've never played DA: Awakening, but i will do and i'll try out DA:2 when i've completed DA:O and DA:Awakening.

Mage is definitely the most enjoyable experience I had. There are plenty of NPC meat shield types already IMO. I've always found combat types in RPGs to be a bit dull what with the lack of abilities compared to magic characters.

I was just reading some old comments regarding DA:O, even though it's a fantastic game posts like this made cringe!

i Love this game but i really dont like the PC version the battle menu looks tottaly diffrent than my PS3 version.... Ugly Camera View

It's people like that i want to give a slap, DA2 was made for those tossers :(

Wasn't the main complaint that Redcliffe felt epic and everywhere else in the game just seemed to be lacking that certain 'something'?

Quality control went out the window though when EA took over it seems. Stone Prisoner was a fantastic DLC. Return to Ostagar was a streak of ****. DA2 is a streak of **** aimed at console gamers.

I have been tempted to start up DA:O again. I never did finish off my 2handed Warrior group playthrough.

Redcliffe was the best part, but my major, major gripe was the first pop-up of an achievement, i mean, why the **** would you lob in achievements?

I quite like achievements. They remind me that I can play through certain parts of the game and make different decisions, and encourage me to do so. I don't really see what harm they do.

Meh, the transformation between ME1 and ME2 may have removed things like persistant spawns so you couldn't engage on your own terms (and the Sniper Rifle was actually that) but it also made things much better in some ways. DA2 is just a massive step backwards.

Very true!

There was nothing better in ME2, okay so combat felt marginally different, but the fights themselves were worse and there was FAR less variability largely because the narrowed the scope of each "class" so much.

As for DA2, I only just played the demo, the whole way through I was thinking "are you ******* serious", then it finished and I'm trying to decide if I should cancel the pre-order or not or PRAY its less bad. I really didn't like the intro to DA1 and took me a year and a few tries to get more than a few hours into the game to a stage that I liked it.

But it really is so ultra consolified its a joke, horrible camera, horrible weird action, the "please have a gamepad to use these talking options" dialogue rubbish.

I really don't get game companies, DA1 was a success, many people loved it, why make DA2 a radically different game for a radically different audience? Why not make DA2 based on DA1 game/mechanics then, shock, horror, make a DIFFERENT game for people who want something different.

I dunno, they cut out a lot of the unnecessary rubbish. Inventory system was so horrible on ME1, while i did like the greater degree of customisation it did get frustratingly tedious at times. A middle ground would've been nice. I disagree about the combat system though, while they did narrow down the scope of the classes they definitely made the classes feel more unique. Soldier gunning everything down with AdrenRush, Vanguard Charging in like a shotgun wielding nutjob, Infiltrator cloaking to blow an enemies head off or walk in close with a shotgun, Adept to toss enemies around. The combat of ME1 was very hit n miss sometimes.

There is no explanation behind the transition to DA2 though. There was nothing wrong with the way DA:O worked and it sold well. Why the hell change it to such a ridiculous consolified piece of trash. If it had been its own original IP it might've been fine but ruining DA is unforgivable.

I agree on inventory, there was just "too much" in ME1 but ME2 was woeful, of the two the overdone ME1 system was FAR better, I felt throughout the game like I was getting an upgrade if I got money and got a better weapon, in ME2 that was just gone, you got weapons exactly as enemies scaled up so I never felt like anything changed. An RPG with a almost entirely useless weapon/itemisation system is a joke, as you said something inbetween, an inventory with better interface on top of less drops so less random ammo's to deal with would have been better than both. But of the two we've seen ME1 was far better.

Yup, as I said, why change DA:O, just make a new franchise if you want a consoley RPG. I mean, what consoley people will look at DA2 which from the demo, follows on or runs alongside DA1 and start from there. Utterly retarded decision. I don't mind more proper cutscenes but even the cutscenes have issues, weird angles, uber close to characters while talking, very weird.

Its been a while since I played and that was only a barren starter area maybe cut down for the demo in terms of textures, but graphically it seemed a HUGE step back from DA1 aswell.
