What a superb little game this is, screw the villagers, I could just play building with the islands, I hope they just come up with some random map generator that I can terraform!

the fluid dynamics are great fun, redirecting lava flows, creating dams and lakes..its all realyl well done.

yeah, apologies as there is a thread on the pc games forum...not sure why its released behind the console versions, but I am not complaining, its easy to control with the pad as they are very easy..left trigger picks up and right trigger drops, thats pretty much all there is to it!

Oh I'll have to pick the demo up, didn't realise it was out. Creative Director behind this was the guy who almost single handed made Another World (that Amiga classic!) and later directed Heart of Darkness :)

This doesn't have a sandbox mode does it?

not as such..but that would be my hope they would incorporate it..but map 4 for example..once you village is safe you can just muck about like I did for over an hour (until the nearby volcano had created land enough to broach the lagoon between it and my village so I had to take action and created an huge rock wall to channel the lava 90 degrees left and into the ocean)

each map has a secondary objective of getting full coverage with plant life and attracting animals (they turn up with about 70% coverage)

in all honesty its just nice fiddling with water courses etc.

From the review I read once you complete the game you can go back and carry on from the state you left the map in during the mission playthrough.

Kind of disappointing there is no sandbox mode, as I might have bought this if you were able to just arse around like in Black & White.

Played the demo earlier this evening, thoroughly enjoyed it, so got the full game. Really enjoying it so far, only one the 3rd "map" / island so plenty still to go.

Looking forward to messing about in the latter levels :)

Finished the 2nd island last night (just got the trial) - good fun! =) Really nice to play a game that's very different. It's like a mix between Populas, Black & White and Wetrix :D

I really liked the demo even though it was really short. The graphics didn't look HD at all to me though, had a very fuzzy look. But I really enjoyed the landscaping - redirecting rivers, etc.

One concept I didn't grasp though was the idea of animals and vegetation. What purpose do they serve? Why do you need to get the palm trees to grow to 100% coverage?

And why have I used 'though' in every sentence?

When you get 100% it unlocks a new story, and i think the only point in getting all stories is for an achievement, could be wrong though :)

Im about 3/4 way through the main story now, I found 1 bug so far where the sound clips can sometimes get stuck and you get an annoying loud static noise every few seconds.
Apart from that its quite an entertaining game! and i suck at the challenge maps :(

Also got this on Live last night, we didn't expect much from it until we played the demo and then we were hooked! Up to level 5 at the moment and loving it

Is there any way to speed up the cursor? I find it a bit slow when you need to do things in a rush.

EDIT: NM, found that holding X speeds up.
