i have a E2200 i have it overclocked to 2.93GHz
i am thinking of putting in a Q6600 will there be much differance
i have a gigabyte GA P35 DS3L M/B
with 2 1GB sticks of memory just now did try it with 4 1GB sticks but could not get it to overclock
i am going to put 2 2GB memory sticks in, just waiting for a delivery
so would it be worth upgrading or not
i play call of duty 4 and crysis at the moment

thanks

If all you do is gaming, then probably not to be honest. You aren't going to notice a great deal of difference with the games you are playing.

If you were playing something like Supreme Commander, or something that fully utilises four cores, then you would notice a difference, but again it won't change your world. More CPU cache does seem to help with minimum frame rates, but max fps probably won't change much.

Unless you video encode or use fully multi threaded apps, your E2200 will probably do you ok.

Most games are GPU limited anyway, so I'd probably save my cash and see how the new quads pan out and what happens to Q6600 pricing.
