From now and onwards, NCsoft MMORPGS on STEAM!

I think there's a free trial on the official GW website.

I also happen to have bought two copies of the original game when it came out and never play them!

Hopefully this will bring some new players in to Guild Wars. I started playing a few months back and love it, however there is too much of a gulf between the new and experienced players imo.

Quick Q: Will I be to register my current version of Guild Wars with Steam? I haven't go the serial code, but I registered it with an account, and I remember those details.

no idea how it works, I spose if you got it on steam you could just login normally?

hmmm, if you can and it goes on sale i may rebuy it >.> lol (even though i have the ce boxes for all 3)

Shame they have never released a good game really... I really mean that too, no trolling. Aion does look good, I hope it makes it over here but the NCSoft track record is not good.

hold up, lineage1 and 2 are giant successes, maybe not on the wow scale but get your facts straight please. quick edit lineage1 had over 3 million subscribers for game from 1998 thats a higher ammount than wow if you factor in how many people have pcs now vs 1998

Guild wars wasn't too bad was it? Personally I thought City of Heroes was pretty fun and Aion is pretty great too.

I think you may be confusing "good" with something else.

That's your personal opinion. I, and around a million other people, also enjoy Guild Wars, and City of Heroes - and the other games, which I have not had the pleasure to play.

If the Lineage series didn't have its reputation to be an extremely grind heavy game and had better advertising, personally I think it could probably do much better than WoW. In its heyday and even now, it is still quite popular. One thing is for sure, I definately prefer the artstyle of Lineage II.

"Good" is really subjective. NCsoft does back/produce some really good MMOs, just a shame too many people have jumped onto the WoW train and never got off. Especially the first-time MMO players who think that everything else should be developed just like WoW since they become so spoilt by it.

I think you'll find those numbers are skewed by the asian take... and if we start counting that then there are a lot of games with more sub's than WoW (I hate WoW for the record, more of a UO fan boy ;) ).

City of Heroes/Villains I played... aweful interface/game. Lack of content, PvP.
Auto Assault... well that failed pretty quickly.
Tabula Rasa... Yes well even Lord British couldnt keep that going
Guild Wars is not a MMO

I am simply saying that the NCSoft track record is NOT good. An ex-collegue of mine is a GM for NCSoft down in Brighton and even he says their catalogue is not strong but to keep an eye on Aion.

I thought CoH/V was getting good reviews, never played it myself. Dabbled with GW though, and enjoyed it. But I'm not sure why you say it isn't an MMO. Sure, when you go into an instance its not got 100 other people there with you, but on the other hand, the outposts and cities have a ton of other players.
