I was going to put this documentary by Werner Herzog in the YouTube thread but it needs a much wider audience to remind everyone of why you should not be using a phone behind the wheel.

The consequences are horrific so don’t be tempted and drive safely. :)

Watched a whole 5~ minutes before it got far too boring and annoying to watch any more.

I think there is a reason that "don't do xyz behind the wheel" adverts are short, shocking and to the point*

*they might sometimes miss the real point, but they do get a point across

The issue with short adverts is you rarely see the impact that an accident can have years on.

I agree it was quite slow to start with but well worth a watch.

One time in Leeds we had a taxi driver that had his phone between his legs and he kept looking directly downwards for a good 5 seconds or so while driving. I was sitting in the front, got tired of this and just said to him 'hey mate you can get a phone holder for your car your know so you don't have to look down all the time', apparently this was really rude??

I cycle to work. The number of times I'm waiting at junctions and I see cars sail past with the drivers looking down between their legs is terrifying, because at some point they're driving up behind me too. Some people just don't give a toss.

I think by that point I'd have just told him to stop the car, and left in double-quick time to be honest!

Pff, sod phones, was passed by a guy in a C220 Merc a couple of weeks ago who had his iPad pinned to the steering wheel as he zipped along at a nice steady 80+mph, that's how real drivers roll these days it seems
