hi chaps,

I have a windows machine with 8 hdd in.

I've decided to go down the ubuntu route had have a data related question.

I have unpluged my data drives (formated NTFS) and installed ubuntu with no issues on the system drive.

Now when i plug one of the data drives back in the systems hangs on boot.

I was under the impression I'd be able to boot in to ubuntu and then mount the ntfs partition on the data drive.

am i wrong?

thanks

As Mr Krugga has mentioned, check which drive the pc is trying to boot from, you could also plug them in one by one.

And yes, you'll be able to boot into ubuntu and you should see any NTFS drives in the home folder.

cheers chaps.

I'd gone back to windows for the time being, but I may make the move over today.

All i need on the box, is a share for my time machine, share for media devices to get my films and what-not and handbrake as I'm redoing my film collection so it all plays on my atv2.

thanks again,

tristan
