Hi,

What good use can those Front Accessible 3.5" drive bays be put to, you know the bit where the floppy drive usually goes?

  • Fan Controller

  • Card Reader

  • Extra USB2.0 Ports

  • Zip Drive Thingie

What else is there? Out of all the things I can remember the fan controller seems the most useful, but these days the motherboards BIOS/Included fan headers seems to do a good job of controlling the fans.

Is there anything I missed?

hard drive, small graphical display, audio/video connections.

You can do a surprising amount of things with the floppy drive bay :)

Cheers Werewolf, hmm I don't think I have seen a 3.5" 'small graphical display' before, will look into that. I've seen additional audio connectors but I don't know many people that would use that, is the Creative Live-Drive thingie 3.5" now or still 5.25"?

Never heard of a 'video connection' that fits into a Front Accessible 3.5" drive bay?

I'm aware of laptop hard-disks, not sure what size they are but you got me thinking, would be cool if there was a hot-swap type caddie you could fit into there but with USB2.0/Firewire/SATA external drives about now I don't see any advantage to using laptop disks in a floppy bay?

Hmm I wonder if there is anything that you can fit that takes up the space of 2x Floppy bays (double height?).

Laptop disks are 2.5" as opposed to 3.5" on a desktop. Ive never seen a caddy to fit into a 3.5" bay. I dont suppose there would be much call for them.
