Well, I used to plug my headphones into the back of my PC, but that is not possible anymore. I just can't plug in the cables without moving my desk, which requires me to move drawers, but they're full.
If I plug my headphones into the green headphone jack in the front, I can hear a sort of static noise that you hear when you plug some headphones into any jack, but I won't hear any sound from videos or anything. The USB ports at the front are also in working condition, so it isn't to do with them.
I was trying to look up the solution on the internet and it was saying I need to enable onboard audio devices in the BIOS or something similar. I looked through my BIOS and changed "Onboard Audio Devies" (or something similar) from HD Audio to A-something. This didn't help either.
I use windows 8 and my current motherboard is Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD 760G
