Front audio jack not working

I have a Zalman Z7 case and the front audio jacks haven't worked for as long as I can remember. I have the jacks from the case connected to the motherboard correctly.

I also have another pc with a Zalman Z7 case and the front audio jacks don't work on that case either.

Any idea?

a) Are you using the motherboards onboard sound? If you have a separate sound card the cable to the front audio jacks should be connected to this.

b) Are you using the correct connector? The case has connectors for HD Audio and AC '97 Audio. You need to use the correct one.

Yeah I'm using the motherboards on board sound. I've tried both the HD Audio and AC 97 and non of them work.

By disabled in mobo do you mean disabled in BIOS?

Cheers

I also have a Zalman Z7 plus, just tried using it for the first time to test this, and my 'front' audio jack doesn't work either. All is connected up inside so I too am slightly stumped, and would also like a solution if anyone has one.

Hardware wise I've got a Gigabyte board and no sound card.

I've checked in the BIOS and couldn't see anything. Strange!

Oh, well I just had a fiddle with the connector and it now seems to work. As long as I put the headphones in at the right angle. If I set it off by a few degrees I only get the left headphone. Ah well, it works, just have to learn to live with its little foibles. :p
