Front audio jack problems

My front audio jack doesn't seem to like headphones being plugged in, it doesn't notice them unless I give the headphone connector a bit of a wiggle. If I do that, I get "you've plugged in an audio device", but the moment I let go it says unplugged.

I've also tried plugging the headphones in to the connector on the mobo, that works but they don't stretch far enough.

Currently got the pc facing sideways so the cable reaches. I'd assume I need to contact my case manufacturer and see if they'll ship me a new front panel connector? Anything else I can do in case that comes back negative?

It might just be bad design on the case, some cases have the sockets really deep/concaved so some plugs doesn't go in fully... if I were you I would just get a 3.5 audio extension cable and plug them in the back.

Checked that, neither the connector to the mobo or the front panel bits are loose.

Looks like I'll be using a 3.5 extension cable for a while.
