Front Audio Not Working

Hi guys , ive plugged the hd audio wire from the front panel off my haf 922 into the F_Audio slot on my gigabyte UD5 motherboard but when i plug something in the front panel there seems to be no sound. any ideas?

Have you used the correct plug, on my 932 its got an ac97 audio connector and an HD audio connector , dont know if this is the same with the 922 though.

Yes it has both. But I presumes the Hd audio was the one to connect as there was only one audio slot ?

Think you can use either but you have to state weather its using the HD Audio one or AC97 one, my board is set at HD Audio by default though, mines set in Bios but just read through a UD5 manual, dunno if its the same as yours as theres several and it says you need to set if its HD Audio or AC97 connection being used somewhere via software?

Ok I'll check what it's set to in the bios . Btw what is the difference between HD and Ac97?

Am not sure tbh, just seems to be extra wires connected on the HD Audio plug. Am sure theres more to it than that though lol.
