Greetings,

I'm trying to connect the Asus Xonar front panel HD audio header to the case front panel. I destroyed the original audio cable ages ago. It's not a standard layout because that would be too easy .
There are 9! pin combinations but only 4 pins seem to have traces going into the line-out. As is there's either no sound at all or the right channel goes through the left.

Case front audio layout: Asus Xonar HD audio layout:

X X 0 X X ____________ X X X 0 X
X X X X X ____________ X X X X X

According to the AC97 / HD audio diagrams, the right channel is located in the middle pins which has totally stumped me as the traces on the case header say otherwise.

Any clues?

Would including the case and motherboard make and model help others with your issue?

Aplus HTPC ATX case.

case header:________________soundcard header:
(X1) (X3) (NC) (X5) (X7)______(Y1) (Y3) (Y5) (NC) (Y9)
(X2) (X4) (X6) (X8) (X0)______(Y2) (Y4) (Y6) (Y8) (Y0)

Can you just please tell me how to map the pins? e.g. X1 => Y0 edit: Maybe X6 = ground.

A Google reveals this for the soundcard's header - the pin numbers are not in the same order as your diagram, but they do correspond with your ASCII art diagram:-

pin 7 is blocked off.
pin 1, Mic2_L (top-left pin)
pin 2, Mic2_R
pin 3, HP_R
pin 4, Jack-sense
pin 5, HP_L
pin 6, HP_HD
pin 8, Mic2_JD
pin 9, Presence
Pin 10, Agnd (audio ground/negative)

AC97 is the same header plug but the pins are different.
pin 1, Mic2_l
pin 2, Mic2_R
pin 3, Line out_R
pin 4, NC (Not connected).
pin 5, Line out_L
pin 6, NC
pin 7, blocked
pin 8, NC
pin 9, NC
pin 10, AGND (audio ground)

Which model as i have looked at 2 and they didn't have HD Audio?
A+ black GL-3 HTPC case

They're both standard layouts. I already know what the pins are.
X X X O X

My case is: I can't find this layout on google at all and have no idea which pin is which.
X X O X X
