Evening Guys,
So for the final time my housemates left the front door unlocked this morning, all day until I got home just now.
The front door requires manually locking from both inside (thumbscrew) or outside with a key after lifting the handle to engage multipoint locks. It does not automatically lock on closing, even when lifting the handle it can be fully opened still if it hasn't been locked via the thumbscrew/key.
I think what I need is a split spindle? What I would like is for the door to to be 'single' locked whenever it closes and inoperable from the outside without a key. Pressing down from the inside would allow it to open. i.e. if it closes behind you you can't get back in without a key.
It's a euro-cylinder which is easy enough to change but I just wanted to check if I will need anything else for this?
If we have any locksmiths here who could advise I'd be very grateful
Thanks,
BennyC
