Hi all,
I've unsheethed a front I/O port so I can replace the boring beige wires with cable braid in black so it will suit the internals of my powdercoated case.
However!
Taking the sleeving off the Stero/Mic wires revealed what looked like very flimsy tin foil (glossy like sweet wrappers) which obviously got sliced by the razor blade I used to get the sleeving off.
There is a bare wire wraped around the other wires, and I'm presuming this is to create a barrier against interference? It isn't a ground wire as it isn't connected to any pins.
Good idea to find some replacement foil? Or will it be ok if this is what it's for?
