Front Mission Evolved

So... who's looking forward to this? Its down for release on the 8th October, and looks like it could be quite good. Its a departure from the series' history of turn based games, however it looks like it could be a very good Mechwarrior/Armored Core style game on the PC. Is it worth pre-ordering, as I've not heard much about it, though I only found out about it yesterday, and the only threads on the subject are in the console forums. But given its a PC release it deserves a proper thread here

Ever played Cybernator and Front Mission: Gun Hazard on the SNES? Awesome games

This won't be anything like it but just the fact that it's from the same universe is enough to make me want to play.

I've got it on my list. I recall playing the original Front Mission back in the day on the PSX and it hooked me from start to finish. It's one of the few games I played through from beginning to end multiple times because I enjoyed it so much.

The Front Mission games are some my favourites of all time.

I get the feeling this will be more like Transformers war for cybertron then the Mechwarrior games.

Will wait and see some reviews i think.

Front Mission 3, up their with some of the greatest turn based games i have had the pleasue to play.

Seems like this latest encarnacion seems to have done away with the turn based gameplay (up their with fallout vats imo) and brilliant rpg features FM3 had (that echoed the great Mech Warrior), in favour of some kinda 3rd person / fps hybrid (wannabe mech warrior) with some transformers silliness in the mix too. And tbh they could take out the mechs and replace them with gears of war level of daft ultra-man and not lose much. Seems another asian classic gone (Dynasty Warrios, Kessen .. how i miss you

Seems no-one (im looking at you console people) has time for tun-based gameplay these days. Which sucks tbh...
