Want to connect up the front audio ports on my case (Jeantech Fusion FN099). The mobo is a Abit KD7A.

The manual labels two pinouts as VCC, there are two connectors from the front panel which have a VDD label on them.

Now it seems to me that these could go together but after a quick google i'm more confused. Much talk of Field Effect Transistors and Bipolar Junctions and other electrical mumbo-jumbo have left me not quite so confident in connecting these pins just to see what happens.

Can anyone offer any advice?

I can check later but I think VCC and VDD are normally USB signals NOT audio.

I'd appreciate that.

I can tell for sure that the front USB ports are already wired correctly to their appropriate headers, definatley no spare connectors from there.

Although the audio connectors are all single ones, they are bundled together in a sleeved cable for neatness, although not in a neat block like the USB connectors.

The pins are listed below as per the manual (If this helps any)

[1] Audio Mic
[2] Ground
[3] Audio Mic Bias
[4] VCC
[5] Speaker Out Right Channel
[6] Speaker Out Right Channel Return
[7] X
[8] NC
[9] Speaker Out Left Channel
[10] Speaker Out Left Channel Return
[11] Ground
[12] S/PDIF In
[13] CC
[14] S/PDIF Out

I'm not at the box but I'll post the actual case connector labels later.

Update.

Just went ahead and connected the obvious [ear R], [ear L] and [ground] connectors and left the VDD connectors hanging.

Mic and speaker output working fine.

If someone can explain these extra pins/connectors (in laymans terms) and their proper usage, then great, but not urgent now.
