Hi,

I am building a PC using a case that has the audio front panel stuff (the green and pink port) which I have never used before.

I have found the pins on the mobo but some of them have jumpers on? what are these jumpers for anyone know?

So it looks easy enough to plug the cases wires but I was wondering what happens to the rear ports once u hook up the front ones?

i.e can u still plug stuff into the back or do the rear (green & pink) ports get disabled?

thanks in advance, I will try it later this evening when I get times :)

How its works will depend on the board, usually using the front will disable the back, this normally a good thing as plugging your headphones in will disable your speakers automatically. Some boards will a jumper or bios option to enable both audio outputs .

Oh I see!!

I thought it totally disabled the rear ports once you connected the wires to the audio-header on the motherboard, I didn't realise it was just when u connected anything to the front port! :o

I thought it may be a pain for someone who has speakers and a set of headphones, you would have to plug the speaker cable into the front panel! :D

Cheers for clearing that up! :)
