Hey, just having a minor problem trying to get the front panel audio to work.

using an asus p5k se mobo in buillt realtech sound

i have the latest drivers so that shouldnt be a problem

when i connect speakers to the motherboard itslef theres no problem there the realtech software recognises the connection and sound flows normaly,
however when i connect headphone and/or a mic to the front panel audio connections realtech doesnt see anything being connected and i get no sound flowing through.

any advice/suggestions would be gratefuly recieved.

the front panel audio connector might be for AC'97 audio and your actual sound is Realtek High Definition Audio, there should be a bios setting to make the front audio connectors support an AC;97 connection

I'l ask the obvious...

If you built it yourself, did you connect the front audio connections on the case to the mobo correctly?

:rolleyes::)

Ive got the same problem on that board, but doesnt bother me much as i got a soundcard in the back. Just try looking in bios first cause I remember looking the other day and it had an option to change the motherboard sound input to HD or AC97. If not then obviously check the front audio connecti ons as dr.sarf said.

Thanks
