Front Panel Interference Noise?

I just attached my HD audio header to my soundcard and whenever I use my headphones from the front header I get annoying interference noise, especially when moving my mouse.

Anyone had similiar problems? How can I fix it?

I've heard of people using different plugs, PSUs to fix the problems but I really want to know if I can't fix the front header; how will I use my headphones and speakers from the same soundcard without having to go under my desk every time I want to change because of changing the audio jacks?

I think Robbie G had similar issues. I think he has a Lian Li case, could be wrong though. He bought a Xonar DG, so he could use the front case audio sockets, but he had interference problems. He managed to solve it in a similar way explained by Shamrock. It was caused by a ground loop. I think he isolated the screw on section which holds the USB and audio sockets etc, from the case.

Try moving the audio cables away from GFX card, CPU, PSU etc, and get a ferrite ring, which you would feed the cables through. See if that helps. Depending on the case, it may not be possible to isolate the front connections panel from the case, if it's a ground loop problem. It's likely with cheaper cases, they are riveted, so some DIY work would be required.

Correct:

Since then I've also realised that I can 'screw and glue' the front panel on, then remove the screws when the glue has dried.

What case do you have?

I fixed this issue with my Antec 300 by cutting a single wire in the front panel connector which was acting as a ground loop and causing interference just like you describe.

Here is the guide I followed: http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=29778

Silverstone FT02

I have removed some of the interference, but only for the headphones, I cannot hear any high pitched noises etc that happen when I move the mouse anymore.

I solved this by removing the USB header and rearranging the audio header so there was less contact with other wires.

How did you identify with the ground loop wire? I could try cut that off like you said and it might solve my mic noise issue (:

XD sorry for double post but I'm gunna explain my current issue to get rid of any confusion:

I hear very annoying 'white noise' whenever I listen to my mic or whenever people hear my mic.

There is no noise anymore related to my headphones (the high pitch noise that happens when you move your mouse).

So now I'm interested in clearing up the mic issue and think cutting the ground wire might solve it however I don't know how to identify it.
