hi there, i am currently building my first computer and these are my specs so far:

Enermax Blackknight Case
hiper type R 580w
Asus A8n SE Sli
AMD 64 3500+
Maxtor 80gb
Samsung DVD rom
**No memory or Graphics as of yet**

Anyways i received my PSU from OCUK "obviously" today so i installed it into the case and tooked it up to the Mobo, Dvd drive and Hard Drive which were already installed in the case. The cable that i had connected up from the front panel were the HDD LED, Power LED, Power switch and reset Switch.

I decided id turn the PSU on for the first time just to see everything running and listen to how noisy it was. so i turned it on..everything is running but the HDD LED and Power LED isnt coming on. So i tried taking them out and putting them back in again..but still didnt work. So i figured big deal aslong as its running...so i tried pressing the reset button and it only makes the fans attached IE Case fan and CPU fan run faster..is this normal? kinda worried ive screwed it up.

thanks for any help!!

have you put them in the right way round? Try inserting it so the coloured wire is the opposite side to before. Wouldn't know about the reset/fan thing - maybe it's er.. your imagination.

edit: beaten - spent too long on the wording.

I don't know about your exact mobo, but I have an Asus board and it has a 'Q-Fan' function. When you first power-up the fans run at full speed, then throttle back if the temps are not too high.

Just turned them around and they are now working. Thanks for the help and the quick response and one more thing...you teckon id be able to play BF2 on high settings with 2GB OCUK PC3200 ram and a BFG 7900 GS OC 256 card?

thanks guys :) :D
