front panel question

will something like this allow me to have my speakers on the 2.1/2.0 analogue
line out on the audigy 2 and if i wire this up to the card when I plug headphones in at the front will the speakers be muted? or can you even only have 1 analogue device at a time meaning i'd have to plug speakers in at the front panel
for them to work if panels connected to the sound card.
Problem is my speakers do not have a headphone jack on them
and card only has 1 analogue 2.1 out.

It will depend on the software that your sound card has. Creative has that option to mute speakers upon detection of headphones.

edit - wait does win xp have this in the sound options in control panel? :confused:

edit 2 - not that I can find it..so it might well depend on what software you have installed for your hardware..

Thanks think i'll just stick to plugging in the headphones at the back then.

you could have a look for a headphone extension cable, that way your not reaching round the back all the time and also if the socket on your soundcard breaks with keep plugging and unplugging its gonna be more expensive than replacing the headphone extension.
