when i scroll through any menus in front row using the apple remote (naturally) it changes the volume. oh my word it's so annoying. any one else having this level of fun?

Ditto to that, you could also try reinstalling front row off the osx instal disks and see if that fix's the problem

doesn't happen on mine, it only changes volume when I'm on a now playing screen, not when playing and browsing menus.

That's how it's meant to work.

It shouldn't be possible to change the volume unless you are playing media when browsing through the menus.

Does keyboard navigation work fine? Also, what hardware and software are you using?

using an early 2008 mbp. reinstalled front row from the apple support page to no avail. will try the discs in a sec. it does it when i'm playing music and when i'm not. the clicks get quieter as i scroll down haha :) it doesn't show the volume icon thingy unless i'm actually in the now playing screen. interestingly (well, not really) when i change volume in the now playing screen, and the icon pops up with a bar below, it doesn't change properly. 3 clicks up followed by 3 clicks down doesn't return the bar to the starting position. it might be related i guess. i'm not using any extra software.

edit: keyboard navigation doesn't change the volume.

edit: where is front row on the discs?

well that's weird. in an attempt to get rid of front row and reinstall it from a dl again i deleted from my apps folder and said yes to apptrap deleting a folder from ~library... emptied trash and rebooted. out of interest i hit menu on my remote. front row popped up! should that happen? anyhoo, it works now! ace. including the weird 3 up not equalling 3 down thing.

haha with menu on the remote, it was probably superfluous info! that's the weird thing though - it's not in there anymore... i do wonder whether appfresh might have done something. what version of front row.app do you have showing? becuase before i deleted mine it was at 1.0 yet 2.1.3. is out (or something like that).

It's worth trying to repair the disc permissions first matey.

Applications> Utilities > Disc Utility

If not, I think the only way to sort it would be to reinstall as it's a bundled app.

did a reinstall and now it seems to work fine. it migrates all of your apps and settings etc into the new install which is quite snazzy. front row is now in the apps folder and it works - sweet. thanks guys.
