Looking at upgrading and I see some motherboards now offer USB-C front headers on them and some cases also now have USB-C front ports.
Does anyone know what the compatibility of different USB speeds are with them?
I think all the boards I've seen with headers are at least USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps and some cases say they work at that speed.
However there are also now boards with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 headers 20Gbps. Does anyone know, or has tried, plugging one of these into the integrated front USB-C on a case and will you get 20Gbps even if the case only mentions it's a 10Gbps port?
I've tried searching the web but I've not found anything conclusive.
As Gen 2x2 is just using all the 4 pairs of pins from the port, I'd like to think that you should be able to get that speed via the case port but it would be great to get some confirmation.
