The missus just picked this up for me tonight at a local superstore whilst she was doing the shopping. :cool:

I installed it, updated to the latest patch and everything looked sweet.

I start the game and it all loads up, configured the display settings etc, and started the first mission.

The cut scene loads up, plays through and then after the Helo crashes and the reporter guy looms over you, I get a box popping up telling me there has been a "Runtime Error"



It then returns me back to the desktop.

It's driving me up the wall......any ideas on how to fix this?. :confused:
 
Looking around on the net and on other forums there appear to be quite a few folk having issues with getting the game to run without crashing.
There is some sort of "hotfix" I see on the official site as well as the patch, will give that a go and see if it helps.
 
I had problems with it crashing too and to fix it i uninstalled and reinstalled the physx drivers never had a single crash since.
 
Try the usual stuff mate. Lower sound acceleration to basic via dxdiag. Try changing your display drivers, i.e. if you have an Nvidia card try the 174.xx drivers. Have you updated DirectX to the latest March release? Update BIOS and Chipset drivers.

Perhaps try on minimal graphical settings and see if it still crashes after the cut-scene.

Well, I did agree to marry her this July, so I'm in her good books - for now!!!

I've tried everything ( updated ATI Cat drivers to the latest available, DirectX, disabled sound in Hardware Properties, turned foliage off etc, etc ) and it still crashes at exactly the same point every time. Spent a good few hours trawling the official forums looking for a definitive fix but alas, to no avail.

Really wanted to give this a go but I've kinda given up for now.

Will keep my eye on the Kaos forums and site for any updates. It would appear that this issue amongst a good few others, is affecting many folks.

If they release a new "fix" or patch, I'll give that a whirl but for now I've uninstalled it. :(
 
i dont have the game so have no experience with the problem.
a stab in the dark..............try playing it without the latest patch and hotfix....
 
this game is crap and was rushed to the market, the kaos site is full of known issues.

i have given up on this game and will advertise it on the net at work, if i'm lucky some mug will buy it
 
I haven't checked the Kaos forums or site to see if there are any new patches or fixes out for this.

It's just been boxed up and gathering dust on the shelf since I tried it a few weeks ago.

A pity, as a few folk have said it isn't a bad wee game.
