Show me an alternative to iWeb that will enable pretty much anybody to make a webpage. Clearly it's not for you but that doesn't make it bad.

As for terrible webdev apps, front page is absolutely among the worst of them. I can't recommend you anything but a text editor, clearly this isn't what you're after. Have a look here: http://osx.iusethis.com/

iWeb has been designed for people that just want to create a small website or a blog without any trouble. But it lacks features like custom codes and advanced forms. So if you need to perform stuff like that, you shouldn't waste your time with iWeb.
