Does anyone know of a site\method to convert cooking instructions for chilled food for food that is frozen?
Defrost it first then cook as per the original guide?![]()
What sort of foods are we talking about here? Cooking with frozen meat is generally a recipe for salmonella.
I only found out the other Month or so ago you could easily make toast from frozen sliced bread, just leave it in a little longer. This has completely changed my life! I will never throw mouldy bread away ever again and loaves are lasting me 2-3 weeks!![]()
It's chicken, and I guess I should have said cooking with an oven.
Simple. Portion it before you freeze it.
Freezer bags don't cost anything. If you can't afford freezer bags (or even cling film) then how can you afford chicken![]()
I'm afraid you have no choice then, defrost thoroughly and cook as per the original guide.
I could do that but that means that I would have to put some in a plastic bag, which costs money, I can't defrost it all because I am not entirely sure when I froze it and don't really want to get food poisoning.

Why would you get food poisoning defrosting it versus cooking it from frozen?
I cook chicken from frozen all of the time.
Wrap it fully in foil, put it on 180C and let it cook for about an hour and a half. Check after an hour though.
Out of date before or after defrosting?
I don't mean chicken chicken I mean this, http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webs...sna1-_-asdacom-dsk-_-hp#/product/910000312342 and http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webs...sna1-_-asdacom-dsk-_-hp#/product/910000459405.
Cooking Guidelines
Oven cook - From Frozen: Remove all packaging.
Place chicken goujons on a wire rack, above a baking tray and cook on the top shelf of a pre-heated oven at 220C/425F/Fan 200C/Gas Mark 7 for 14 minutes.
Storage
Suitable for freezing. Freeze on day of purchase and consume within one month. Once defrosted use within 24 hours, do not re-freeze.
