Hi guys

I've been having problems with FS9 and FSX freezing randomly for awhile now. I like to do long haul flights sometimes and its starting to get on my nerves!

Today was doing Amsterdam to Dallas Fort Worth and was 9 hours in then FS9 froze and had to restart PC and lost the flight. I went about 50 hours without FS9 freezing but has come back today. Heres the event log :

Faulting application name: fs9.exe, version: 9.1.0.40901, time stamp: 0x4135a208
Faulting module name: A332GE_feelThere.GAU_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x494bf74d

No idea what this means. FSX freezes more than FS9

I've searched for a solution on google but to no avail,

Any ideas??

Could be indicative of system instability after long periods of load, try running a cpu stress tool (Linx etc) for a similar period of time.

A332GE_feelThere.GAU

Theres the problem. For some reason FSX does not like that gauge in your A330 Panel.

Do this as a test:

1. Go the A330 folder and rename its panel folder to something else
2. Copy-paste the DEFAULT A321 Panel folder in its place
3. Go fly the A330. I am certain your game will not crash this time

This is not a solution I know but it will show that the FeelThere gauge is causing the freezes.

You can also go into the FeelThere panel.cfg and edit out that gauge as a test just put to in front of it like this:

//A332GE_feelThere.GAU = XXX, XXX

Try flying now...good luck.

A solution: replace with freeware panel or search FSX forums (or Feelthere forums)

Ahh I never knew FSX was that realistic that it even imported real life problems that planes have into th egame. :-)

Whilst not a solution to your problem, I have the registered version of FSUIPC which includes a handy option to autosave your flight at specific intervals - think I've got mine set for every 2 mins although you can specify whatever interval you want. If FSX does crash then you just reload from the saved flights list.

Well FS9 froze again. Its so random ican't pinpoint what is causing this. Anyway heres a latest event viewer log :

You dont have to re-install windows.

I know none of us touch the defaults but I would strongly suggest you fire up the default Cessna and tool around in it for a bit. Its only for trouble-shooting purposes. I will be surprised if u get the dll error with the default C172.

From past experience 99.9% of the time an addon plane caused similar problems for me or more specifically a gauge in the panel.

You could also try replacing the modules folder. FS9 disk contents:
