I dont know if this is the right place to post this or not but here goes anyways.

I use everst in conjunction with the sidebar to show my temps/speeds etc but the fsb and clock speed seems to lower by itself when under load. The clock speed obviously changes due to the direct link ofthe fsb lowering.

Has anyone else noticed this and is it normal or do i have some kind of cool and quiet type thing throtteling my pc when temps are raiseing?

thx

What are your temps?

The cpu should not lower whilst under load, if anything the multiplier should decrease when not stressed.

What are you specs.

Yeah, that's 'speedstep' (intel) or 'cool-n-quiet' (amd)

drops the cpu speed when idling to use less power :)

I have cool and quiet disabled though and i get the cpu speed decrease when on full load.

My spec is:-

mb= M3a79t
cpu= p2 940 @3.7 ghz using 18.5 x 200 @ 1.45v (maybe slightly higher voltage)
ram= 8gb ocz 1066 @ 5 5 5 15 24
psu= 850w coolermaster

Also water cooled and get about 51 c or slightly higher at full load. about 37 idl;e.

Also just noticed that my ram also gets throttled aswell.

It kind of varies what it throttles to but just a miniute ago when heavy streaming it went down to 700 mhz cpu and something like 26 mhz ram.

missed the 'under load' part - makes my post kinda pointless lol

Try checking with a different program? Just in case Everest is somehow reporting wrong?
