hi there,

i am looking for a first person shooter/stealth game.
I allways liked the stealthlevels ( submarinebase and such ) in MOH:AA and RTCW or playing Hitman in the ( crappy ) firstperson mode. Too bad Tom Clancey's splinterCell is 3rd person... hate that..
So now for the question..
Doen anyone know a good stealthgame with a bit of action too ( say 70-30 stealth/action ) wich is an FPS? don't care if it's a bit of an old game as long as its fun :)

thanks

Lone

You don't really get that many Stealthy games these days, as they don't really sell as well I believe.

Check out the old Theif games, they're pretty good.

Oh, and edit your swearie ;)

And about the Thief games...they're good :) but i want real time( no dark age ) kinda games :) a good exaple is Vampires the masuerade, bloodlines because of the RPG element you could go stealth whenever you felt the need for is so did Deux es ( allthough futuristic )

but thx for the suggestion :)

possibly something like swat 4?! Not so much full on stealth but you can play it in a stealth style to not alert the enemies.

Also The rainbow 6 series are very good although the missions where you can't use lethal action are annoying.

Original deus ex is the best you will get, unfortunately it's over 7 years old now

Good game, although it's less than 6 years old :) The sequel, Deus Ex: The Invisible War is also worth playing.

No-one Lives Forever 2 might be worth a look, it has a good blend of stealth, action and humour.

My vote is another for Deus Ex. I can remember hurrying home from the game shop with Deus Ex on the day of release and being blown away by the sheer magnificence of the game. Ok, it's 5 or so years later and things have moved on quite dramaticaly but I still reckon everyone should own a copy.

If you take Deus Ex 2 on merit as a game by itself then yeah, it's not that bad a game. The problem arises when you try to compare it with the original. It doesn't come anywhere near emulating what made the original so special.

You can pick it up for between £5-£10, so I'd say it's worth getting but just don't expect it to live up to the original.

I'm gonna third the vote for Deus Ex. You can of course play it all sorts of ways, but stealth in particular is great fun, especially if you whack the difficulty up to realistic at the start. It's almost as good as the Thief games when it comes to creeping around in the shadows and sneakily taking out enemies one by one.

Deus Ex 2, while good, didn't nail down the stealth element nearly as well as the original did. The levels were often too tight and confined, so it was difficult to hide yourself and any bodies.
