Afetr months and months of jerky gameplay I was about to get rid of all my FSX related software and hardware then realised the sim had a DX10 mode. So I switched it and hey presto...silky smooth gameplay.
Only problem now is I get slight glitching from the cockpit dashboard and also from runways where there are more than two at intersections.
Not the end of the world but does anyone know whether there is a fix for this or is it just a driver problem? I am using 2500k and a GTX 680 with 8 gig ram, Driver version 304.48

FSX DX10 mode is notoriously buggy and has issues with third party software.

Not sure how that solves your problem, just thought I'd mention it.

Gave up with DX10 mode years ago as it was so buggy. But yesterday avsim listed "DX10 Shader Fixes v2.0.1 by Steve Parsons" as one of their new library files. I'm not about to try it myself but if you're game I'm sure we'd love to know how well it worked for you ;)

It's strange, it just refuses to run smooth with DX9 and crashes in 3d vision where as DX10 has just solved those problems but created the glitching

right, thanks i'll go check it out.

Don't give up with FSX.. There's lots of material out there for getting smooth gameplay with your card.. I won't go into it as a) there's too many settings b) I have an ATI card.
