FTP Portal

I'm looking for a free portal program that I can setup accounts on and I can get people to upload down load files from their own accounts/folders without the need for a FTP program and secures each account to their own data, any ideas?

need to be able to use it on a non-PHP server and one that I can charge for the service

you'll need some sort of server with scripting language support. there might well be an equivalent for asp.net out there if you look. you can't offer such a service with a bog standard website.

as for charging? i don't think you'll have much joy there considering what can be had for free these days.......

there is definetly a business opportunity for me here for off site backups, I might just use a FTP setup with secure passwords.

fair enough. sounds like you'll be best off with the ftp server then.
