FTP problems

I'm using smartFTP, trying to upload a newly modified site based on a shopping cart system however it sets off fine uploading the files but then will just stop, saying server timed out, refused connection or somthing else.

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Why is it that i have to try 2/3/4 or more times to get all the files up onto the server?

Thing is, it cant be the firewall as the transfer starts ok, and will do several hundred files/folders and then die, i've even tried it with firewall disabled and it still does it :mad:

Hmm, they all suggest no connection can be made, mine works, but drops out part way through large transfers.

I'm trying the good old trusty ws_ftp

Seems to have worked fine using ws_ftp, i also tried cuteFTP and that failed in the same way that smartFTP did...

Very odd, but at least one worked so i can finish off my work properly
