Simple question...

What's the best free FTP software?

Want to make a webpage so my folks can go online and see photos of sprog when he/she arrives! Just need some software for uploading...

I use SmartFTP, as recommended by someone in H,G&P. Works for me, check it out.

I use FlashFXP and have done for ages, no real reason I just like it.

There is a free ftp extension for Firefox, if you use that. It's called FireFTP.

Depends what you want, personally for a straight forward free and easy FTP client I have always used Smart FTP. However the FXP support in FlashFXP has always been better imho and the ability to FTP data between servers without having to download it first to the local box has earned it a place on my work box and it was worth the money!

SmartFTP does indeed look quite simple and straight forward.

I did use to use CuteFTP a long time ago come to think of it, but I quite like the look of SmartFTP. Quite like the idea of the Firefox extension too though!

I might just give them all a try and see what I prefer! I only need something simple just now, so I'll see what I get on with best and ditch the others....
