Currently i've been using windows xp's FTP tool using annoymous connections to it (although only allowing me to read the data i put on it) on one of me servers.

Although I tried putting a password in it and it didn't work :(
Anyone maybe know what i'm doing wrong, I can't remember where i put the password and user name as it was a while ago since i tried, which program do use to host your FTP via your server, because id like something a little more secure ? and i guess .......... betta.

Also WEP... now my machines are all wired up although the laptops around the house and my workshop machine are on wireless, i'm using that ICM ping, Network address translation, and mac address filtering, although wep will help secure the wireless even more, although once again everytime i try to set that it up, the wireless tends to fail so i just leave it currently on the settings above.

Is there a method to wep that i need to follow ?

Thanks in advance

FileZilla Server is what i use for FTP it has the usual features like user/groups and passwords also you can set whichever directories you want for their default home.
what are you currently using? (Windows Server built-in FTP im guessing?)

Yup that's the one, to be honest its worked a treat via setting up FTP via my router, only thing is im thinking of security now and i will want to leave it on a lot more now.

I've just downloaded it, now its asking me to enter an address, would this be the IP of my server ? as it just says it doesnt connect.

With the windows FTP, i just gave it an up address, told the router what to do when someone typed in its wan ip and then it directed it to me server.
