HI folks,
I will be getting in aquiss (via bt) FTTC internet connection on the 2/2/2011 .. yipeee.

I already have a Billion 7300 and a 7402R2 router

Has anyone experience of setting either of these up with FTTC or for that
matter any other router for FTTC?

Iam just curious about what needs to be configured to get it working

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

On those routers, nothing, as they are ADSL routers so won't work.

You need a router which has an Ethernet WAN port (often called a cable router) - this plugs into the BT supplied VDSL modem. You then configure the router to use PPPoE and pop in the username/password Aquiss send you.

Thanks for the help Chris

Which one are you currently using yourself ?

The only thing I would like in my router is 1000 ports
I am not actually fussed on having wireless (dont use it)

If you like billion routers try the 7800n getting rave reviews and will work fine with FTTC (going to be getting one myself)

I'm still using the NetGear DGFV338 - best thing we had in the cupboard at work for me to "test" :D

I'm once bitten, twice shy on anything with a Billion sticker on the top.

1000 ports?

Yeah I will re-phrase that
Would like it to have Gigabit ports
