Not really up on FTTP providers, need to set a family member up with internet and phone in a residential care home, the place recommends Sky / BT but the prices are only cheap in the short term, who else is there?

There is no speed requirement, browsing web on ipad and playing the likes of candy crush is the extent of use, £45 a month for this with a fibre 100 etc. seems a bit much especially when there is an rpi +3.7% clause.

I'm also a little unclear on what I need, I assume once I have a connection I can use any wifi AP on the ONT? I don't have to pay for things like Skys hub max etc?

uswitch.com deal, includes PAYG digital voice:

In the end just went with BT as she wanted a home phone and a recording TV box like she was used to with Virgin Media.

Set the place up today and it was a painless experience, BT TV box Pro also seems to be a massive leap on from the old Youview boxes too, all Sky stuff integrates with the EPG and is recordable, sweet really, in the old days you could only record stuff over the air.

I think its 500/73? but to be honest its WIFI is not the best on Smart Hub 2 so not seen full speeds from the BT hub but as she doesn't need much it is fine and it covers the whole home with at least 300Mb, house is fully wired for ethernet for the TV etc so just used that and wifi is just for her ipads it'll be fine.
