I've just noticed on the BT ADSL checker for my address, along with several family members addresses all throughout South Wales that FTTPod has recently become "available".

Each of the addresses I have checked are connected to different cabinets on different exchanges and all of which until earlier this week only ever showed as FTTC being available.

I know FTTPod is extremely pricey but was just wondering if anyone here has taken it up and if so, what the experience was like?

There are very few ISP offering it, and you will pay a hefty installation fee.

Other than that, it's the same as FTTP once installed.

It may be cost effective to become a sole trader and declare your home your primary place of work and get the installation charges covered by the £3000 connection voucher grant, assuming your area is covered. Talk to an accountant.

Was looking at this recently, there's currently a hold on new orders for FTTPoD

Shame as the fibre DP point is in the pavement right next to my house
