Fuel additives

Quick question for my old man.

He's had a Mazda RX8 sitting in his drive for about 2 years. He drove it the other day and it was stuttery (for want of a better word).

Someone's told him that you can buy something to add to the petrol that will clean all the injectors and give it a clean inside.

We know nothing about cars. Does anyone know what the best stuff is please?

Thanks guys, great help. My dads gonna run the last of the old fuel off round the block a few times then tomorrow we're gonna fill it up with V-Power Nitro and run it down to Maidstone as we need to go there anyway.

I've just got to convince him to put his foot down. He really don't like doing it which probably don't help a car like that. He's never even heard the change gear beep it makes!

Am I right that all fuels now have additives in them anyway?

The web page for vpower says it has cleaning agents in to dissolve gunk and stuff, so sounds the ticket.

It is mot'd. He just run it up the road to get it mot'd last August. It flew through and hasn't been driven since, so there can't be anything really wrong with it.

He didn't put any petrol in though, so the same stuffs been in there for at least 18 months.
