Fuel Tank Problem

Just filled up my tank £10 and it went up to half. All is well until about 5 minutes later i looked at my tank and it has gone down to 1/4 full. Anyone know what the problem could be??

It is for a GOlf Mk3 GTI by the way

Mine does it i wouldn't worry, it is just finding the level of fuel this can take a few mins.

Plus going round corners, up/down hills is going to make it read wrong as well

You only put two galon in......it depends where the needle was b4 you added the petrol......

inaccurate-fuel guage probs... most cars have them as standard these days

my fez thinks its full one minute then next thing i know its dropped a 1/4...

Same thing happens in my mk5
