Hi there.

I can have my transport costs paid for me, Whats the most expensive highest grade RON for sale in england? I suppose the only requirment is that it's stocked at petrol stations.

I suppose it's Vpower isnt it?

How much per litre?

IIRC VPower was 102.9 at my local garage when I filled up last week.

Petrolprices.com might be able to tell you how much it is in your area.

Generally speaking when you get your 'transport costs' paid you get a rate per mile which is designed to cover petrol, insurance, depreciation, servicing, etc etc.

Therefore the less you spend on petrol the more goes in your pocket.

I know, but they want a ball park figure of my weekly running costs :)

Unleaded is 95RON, and Premium unleaded is 98RON (In the US it's 91 and 95).

The different companies just have a different set of additives tipped in as it leaves the storage facility, Shell's mix seems to be the best in my experience.

To take advantage of the higher octane you must advance your ignition timing, cars with knock sensors do this automatically.

Just to add to what you've said - generally cars with knock sensors will only advance timing upto whatever maximum you have set.... to advance it any further you would need to do it manually (by adjust ignition timing for example). So, you wouldn't necessarily see any benefit from using higher RON fuel, unless you manually advance the timing a little.

No, it isn't. BP Ultimate is either 98 or 99 Ron.

There IS a special version of it called BP Ultimate 102 - this is 102 Ron but it's not regular BP Ultimate, it is not available like regular BP ultimate and it's priced at over £2 a litre.

There's a place near me in Virginia Water/Wentworth outside a Ferrari garage that sells 102 (or 105 or something?) RON for 2.79 a litre

sure your not looking at their special track day fuel? A BP garage in Newport Pagnell sells it, and its somthing silly like £2.11

I'm currently trying a tank of Diesel VPower to see what its like, but I think im going to have to give it a few tanks! :(
