First of all i dont believe these exist in the form of a flashgun or anything like that!

I have recently bought the camera and was looking at getting a diffused flashgun. is there anyway of getting around this?

thanks in advance

You are probably best asking on the dpreview fuji forum tbh. As you say you can't fit an external flash to the 6500. However many people have come up with ways of improving flash on similar cams with some ingenuity. You could fit some kind of diffuser to the built in flash, I have heard of people using old white film canisters/bits of milk bottles etc. You can arrange a bounce reflector. Or you can use a slave flash which has a light switch and fires when onboard flash goes off. see here for a guy doing this for macro shots with a canon compact.
