Fuji s9500 tips?

I recently bought a Fuji 9500 and am finding it abit difficult on getting a good clean picture out of it, can anyone sudgest and nice settings for day and night, i also purchased myself a cable release for night pictures as ive herd it can be abit of a handfull.

yea i never have it on auto, i mainly use the "p" setting, and how do i lock it to mode 2? i havent got it that long and am finding it difficult but it is a great camera without dout.

ah i see, i must take a look myself when i get home as im at work, any other tips you can sudgest?

hmmm.... raw isnt really an option to me as I go to car shows quite a lot and some car action and they require a fast setting. So im banjaxed there, lol.
